91吃瓜

The Canadian Doctoral Recruitment Visits project funds top Canadian students living outside the Greater Montreal area to visit the 91吃瓜 campus and meet with students and professors in their potential department. This project aims to increase the enrollment of Canadian students to meet the same success GPS has seen with International recruitment.听

Funding for visits is limited and requests must be approved by GPS. Visits must take place before June 1st.

Eligibility

Prospective students must have applied and been offered admission at the PhD level to 91吃瓜. All nominations will be evaluated individually by GPS.

The following amounts are allotted to top-level Canadian PhD applicants according to their province/territory of provenance:

Process

As part of a new initiative, GPS provides听visiting PhD applicants with virtual pre-paid credit cards after their visit to 91吃瓜 to ease the cost of travel to Montreal.

For visiting PhD applicants to receive a virtual pre-paid credit card, the following steps must be taken:

1. The GPC or GPD must nominate the prospective student via the webform听at least 2 weeks prior to their visit;
2. GPS assesses the nomination and provides听a听decision to the unit;
3. If approved, the GPC or GPD must confirm student's arrival听to gradrecruitment.gps [at] mcgill.ca.
4. GPS emails the virtual prepaid credit card with听instructions directly to student.

Please note that we cannot reimburse students directly. All reimbursements will be made by virtual pre-paid credit card only.听The virtual pre-paid credit card can be used for online transactions or added to a wallet app for in-person purchases.
