Emilie Conway to clerk at the International Court of Justice

We are happy to announce that Emilie Conway, BCL/LLBā13, has been selected by the International Court of Justice (ICJ) to participate in the Courtās 2014-2015 Judicial Assistants Programme.
Judicial Assistants are chosen to work directly with one judge, helping him or her in the preparation for hearings and the drafting of judgments.
Ms Conway was selected to work directly with the President of the Court, Judge Peter Tomka. She will begin work in September 2014.
Professor RenĆ© Provost indicated that it āis a mark of confidence on President Tomka's part that he has picked Emilie as his judicial assistant. He has selected a string of 91³Ō¹Ļ clerks over the last several years, before he was elected president of the Court, which speaks to the qualities of our graduates.ā

Alongside other many other leading law faculties around the world, 91³Ō¹Ļās Faculty of Law is a participant in the Judicial Assistants Programme of the International Court of Justice (ICJ). This offers a rare opportunity for one 91³Ō¹Ļ student or recent graduate to work at one of the worldās most important legal institutions. The nine-month postings take place at the Courtās Peace Palace in The Hague, The Netherlands. Ā
