Nam Professorship in the Sociology o f Population at Florida State University\, is an Associate Professor of So ciology and serves as the Associate Director of the Center for Demography and Population Health. He studies the impacts of climate change on society . Recently\, his research has focused on how migration induced by sea leve l rise could reshape the U.S. population distribution. The New York Times\ , National Geographic\, Time Magazine\, Popular Science\, USA Today\, and others have featured his research. Before coming to Florida State Universi ty\, Dr. Hauer spent eight years directing the Applied Demography Program at the University of Georgia where he provided valuable demographic resear ch to local\, state\, and federal governments.\n\n\nWhat are Lunch&Learn's ?\n\nThe CAnD3 Lunch&Learn series is designed to introduce our Fellows\, t eam members\, and partners to emerging research on topics related to popul ation dynamics and population aging.
